How to reset WHEN column to PENDING

Question:

How do you reset the data in the WHEN column back to PENDING.

Cause:

HelpDesk closed unexpectedly.

Answer:

Try having the USER that is currently being displayed in the WHEN column to exit HelpDesk.  If that doesn't release the inquiry back to a PENDING state, then..

You will need to have ACCESS 97 or better - open the HelpDesk.mdb - locate the inquiry by number - once located - scroll right to the column heading OPENID - remove the name currently being displayed - enter PENDING all caps.  Save and Exit ACCESS.  Restart HelpDesk.

CAUTION...be sure you have a safe clean back up of your helpdesk.mdb before you attempt to make any manual changes.

NOTE...if you have ACCESS 2000 or higher, and have never edited the helpdesk.mdb before, you will need to convert the database from ACCESS 97.

Applicable HelpDesk version(s):

2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2

NOTE....  Version 3.0 will NO longer be compatible with ACCESS 97.  Version 3 will be compatible to ACCESS 2K / 2002 / 2003.
