Export Options N/A for Report

Question:

A front end application uses Crystal Reports as the reporting development tool. On the client computer, when you preview the report and click the export toolbar button, nothing happens.

Why does the export dialog box not appear when you click the export toolbar button?

Answer:

The export dialog box does not appear because the export destination runtime files are not on the client computer. The export destination runtime files include:

u2ddisk.dll 'exporting to a disk file

u2dapp.dll 'exporting to an application

u2dmapi.dll 'exporting to Microsoft Mail

u2dnotes.dll 'exporting to Lotus Domino

u2dpost.dll 'exporting to an Exchange folder

u2dvim.dll 'exporting to VIM

To resolve this issue and have the export dialog box appear, distribute the export destination runtime files to the client computer.

You can find the export destination runtime files on your development computer in the following directory:

- For Windows 9x: 'C:\Windows\Crystal'

- For Windows NT: 'C:\WinNT\Crystal'

Note: =====

You also need to distribute the export format runtime files. For more information on which formatting DLLs you need to distribute, please refer to the runtime help file, 'Runtime.hlp'.
