Question:

What security roles must I give to my users that are using HelpDesk version 2.2?

Answer:

The following information applies only to Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP, using standard users groups that are pre-built into each operating system environment.

Windows NT and Windows 2000

1.  The HelpDesk client must be installed by an administrator or a member of the Administrator group.

2.  Any user that is a member of either the Guest group, or any security group with equal or greater priviledges, will be able to run HelpDesk.

Windows XP

1.  The HelpDesk client must be installed by an administrator or a member of the Administrator group.

2.  HelpDesk will run in the context of a limited user or computer administrator.
