Timer Won't Run on Open Inq Screen

Question:

Have an open inquiry and the timer is green but not running?

 

Answer:

There are two possible answers:

 

  • Reboot your computer to ensure it's not a memory hang up.
  • If you are NOT running Terminal Services on this workstation.....Using the RegEdit.exe program from the Start - Run dialog, make sure that the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\Software\Resource-Dynamics\Helpdesk 2.0" registry key does not have a terminalserviced subkey.  If you do, delete it.

 

Terminal Server Mode:  If you are operating in Terminal Server Mode, animated graphics, including the Timer, are disabled in order to increase performance.  The Timer will read 'ACTIVE' when it is tracking Time Spent.  Stopping the Timer will display the amount of Time Spent.
